Back to Backseam

Two days, two looks, two pairs of backseam tights from J.Crew.

It’s the little things.

On Tuesday, I flew to up north for work… at 6:35 am.  Ouch.  Here’s what I wore:

— J.Crew schoolboy blazer in houndstooth (similar here) — J.Crew pencil skirt in wool crepe — J.Crew  Frances ruffled tuxedo shirt (seen here) — J.Crew Jackie cardigan (seen here) — Kate Spade wedge pumps (seen here) — J.Crew backseam tights —

I didn’t take these pictures until I got home.  After two flights, two meetings, and twelve hours, the skirt really did not wrinkle as badly as some of my super 120s skirts do.  This is my first wool crepe suit from J.Crew (the skirt plus these other pieces) and I really love it.  The fabric is thin but still warm, and good for long days.  It will be perfect for cool summers in San Francisco!  The next two pictures aren’t the best, alas.  Better than nothing?

And here’s today:

— J.Crew paintbrush floral Belle skirt in olive quartz (very cute ones here!) — J.Crew Factory v-neck striped tee (similar here) — J.Crew cardigan (seen here, similar here) — J.Crew fireball earrings — J.Crew backseam tights — J.Crew satin d’Orsay slingback pumps (seen here) —

I looooove this skirt.  I’ve had it for a few years and I love everything about it: the fabric has just the right amount of stiffness to add volume, the print, the shape, and it has pockets!!  I haven’t worn it in a long time and it made me smile all day.

It was a little chilly today, so I threw these backseam tights on under another favorite wardrobe item: neon yellow shoes.  I know this will shock you, but J.Crew makes my favorite clothes.  If I won the lottery, I think I’d move in.  But the only recent purchase in today’s look is the tee; everything else I’ve had for a while.  I’m trying to curb my shopping habit to make room for other things (grownupness) and shopping my closet instead.  Today was a fun day.  🙂

Hope y’all are having a great week.

I’ve tried to work on the “shopping my closet” thing for a longgggg time. Occasionally, I’ll remember to do it. I have so.many.things. with tags still on. *sigh* In my defense, I give away a bag of clothes to a homeless shelter on a monthly basis. And that’s without shopping for more clothes. 🙂

I love giving clothes away too! And I’ve really been trying to focus on buying things that I adore, instead of things I like. Hoping to limit the piles of giveaway clothes with tags!
